A reblog from the good ole’ days 0f 2015. Take a few minutes this week to complete the 4-H PRKC Self-Assessment. Next week we will start a series targeting the 4-H PRKC and how to take charge of your professional development!
Florida 4-H: Northeast District
Early on in my first year of extension, I vividly remember remarking to someone, “I wish someone would just tell me how to be a good 4-H agent!” If someone would simply just give me a checklist, surely I could follow it!
Believe it or not, we have such a thing! (more or less).
The 4-H Professional, Research, Knowledge and Competencies study (2004) outlined the competencies a successful 4-H Agent should obtain, and gathered this list of competencies into six domains:
- Youth Development
- Youth Program Development
- Volunteerism
- Equity, Access, and Opportunity
- Partnerships
- Organizational Systems
