Recognizing Youth Development When it Exists

We are busy people.  Being “busy” can keep us from reflecting on the good work that we do and the youth development that occurs all around us on a regular basis.  This is precisely what made me so excited about James Davis’ article, “How do we turn Archery into a Sense of Belonging?”

In his article, Mr. Davis takes the reader through an activity he uses with summer camp staff to generate those “aha” moments with regard to when and where positive youth development really occurs.  This could be an excellent activity for camp counselor training, teen leader training, or at your next volunteer leader meeting.

…And best of all, the flipchart paper and markers needed for this activity, while indeed necessary, are minimal!  🙂
